For the past few months ArtDreams has been busy with teaching a group of kids about painting and expressing themselves! Summer Break has been the perfect time for all these kids to come and enjoy the studio and using all the awesome materials we have to offer. With the formal classes completed and self portraits framed and ready for our show (coming soon!), ArtDreams has entered all the kids into the OPUS kids art exhibit! From spaceships to dinosaurs and monsters to angry birds, these kids have created a plethora of styles and themes. We are so excited to see their works on display at Granville Island from August 1-10!

Today is all about CASSANDRA, our web designer and art director.
On this rainy afternoon, I snuck into her office to ask her a few things and pick her brain.

1. What is the first thing you thought of this morning?
Ummm….(repeats question to herself). How many spam emails I got last night. I always check my phone first thing in the morning cause I have to turn my alarm off. I’m not a morning person.

2. Have you always been a creative dreamer?
I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t creative. When I was small, me and my dad would make stories together based on Disney movies just for fun. Then when I was older, my mom sort of nurtured my creative side.

3. Do you have any quirks we don’t already know about?
I have a bunch of those…but I have respectful appreciation for erasers. I can’t really pinpoint why, but I do. I like the idea of new erasers.

4. Whats one of your favorite projects you have worked on at Artdreams?’s tough. One of my favorites was Bucsu Boards. We revamped the branding for their long boarding company. It was fun cause we got to play around with logos, photography, website etc.

5. What do you do creatively outside of work?
I have a couple of side projects I’m working on. One is called Mickey’s Pockets, it’s a Vancouver based clothing company. We sew pockets with fun fabrics on t-shirts and tanks. We’re in the process of beefing it up to launch.

6. Ok, I’m gonna ask it. Who do you love more, London or Chanel? (Cassandra’s loveable black lab dogs).
That’s not a fair question! Actually it depends on my mood….

7. What are you craving right now?
I could go for a pickle. A good pickle though, not run of the mill. Crunchy. Totally.

8. Whats your favorite website for creative inspiration?
I like perusing around Mashable just because it has a lot of different topics and articles. Oh and Smashing Magazine.

9. If you were a day of the week, which one would you be?
That’s a good one… I think I’m going to go with Sunday because it can go either way depending on your mood. It could be a raging Sunday or a chill Sunday.

10. Ok, last one. Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter?
That’s a hard one. It’s nice to see what people are doing but I find Twitter more funny, instead of seeing what people ate for lunch.
